21-Day Giving ChallengeThe GenerousYou four-week online learning experience helps grow your church attender's hearts and minds when it comes to generosity and stewardship, but it's the 21-Day Giving Challenge that impacts their hands. The 21-Day Giving Challenge is a separate website on the Ning network – a rich social networking environment for your people to blog, celebrate, and share their GenerousYou.com learning experience with others. Imagine your church attenders...performing an act of generosity for 21 straight days! This is what the 21-Day Giving Challenge is all about. And we are not talking about giving just money...they can be generous with their time, their talent, their relationships, or whatever else God has blessed them with. For example, they could:
And as your people give daily, they can record how they feel about their experience on the 21-Day Giving Challenge website, share what impact their gifts had on those around them, and encourage and brainstorm with others who are taking the challenge at the same time. Here’s an example that may provide some motivation...a journal entry from a woman named Sharla who recently completed the Giving Challenge: “The early bird gets the worm! Today I went by the store on the way to work to buy a case of bottled water for the office. (The tap water is awful, and we don't have a filtration system or water cooler.) I thought that was my gift for today. But no. As I was checking out, the cashier commented on how beautiful the glass pendant was that I was wearing. I had purchased several of these pendants to give as gifts to friends. It was way more fun to take it off and hand it to her with a blessing for the day!” Visit the 21-Day Giving Challenge website now (Note: On this Ning site, your attenders will need to create their own profile there, separate from their GenerousYou.com login information.) |
