How Pastors can Shepherd Pocketbooks to Make Disciplesby Patrick Johnson | October 26, 2012 ![]() Pastors, if you really believe Matthew 6:21, what are you doing about it? If you trust Jesus when He says, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also," how are you helping people with the things they treasure? There is a lot of trepidation in churches today around the subject of money, but Jesus makes it clear that we need to address this issue. Pastors need to be able to help direct and guide their churches in this area. This issue of treasure and money is a discipleship issue. We cannot claim to imitate God (as a disciple does) if we do not follow Him in the area of money and personal treasures. So, how can church leaders shepherd both the hearts and the pocketbooks of their members for the purpose of making disciples? Patrick Johnson answers that question in the video blog below.
